Student Onboarding Process

Once a student is hired into a position and ready to begin the onboarding process, they will receive a welcome message.

 

  1. Student will receive tasks in their inbox: Edit Government IDs and Enter Personal Contact Information.
  2. Click the Inbox icon from the Workday home page.
  3. Click and complete the 2 tasks.
  4. Once the tasks are complete, your Student Employment Coordinator is required to review and approve the tasks.
  5. After approval, the student will receive 3 inbox tasks: Complete Federal Withholding Elections, Change Emergency Contacts, and Review Documents. Click the inbox icon from the Workday home page and complete these tasks.
  6. After completion, the student will be prompted to complete their USCIS I-9 form. Once complete, this gets sent back to the Student Employment Coordinator for approval.
  7. After approval, the student receives the inbox tasks: Complete State and Local Withholding, Disability Self-Identification (optional), and Photo Change (optional).
  8. Once complete, the Student Employment Coordinator receives inbox task to Maintain Payment Elections and verification of Onboarding Documents.
  9. Student Employment Coordinator moves the student to Student-Eligible to Work organization.
  10. The student is now approved to begin working. Student and supervisor will be notified.

Please Note: In addition to these steps, all students are required to present two forms of ID in the Financial Aid Office to facilitate completion of the I-9 Employer section.
