Recruiting: Create Job Requisition
This job aid provides recruiters and managers step-by-step instructions on how to create and view job requisitions for student positions/employees.
Create a Job Requisition for Student Employees:
From the Home Page:
- Navigate to the Search Bar and search for "Create Job Requisition".
- Click the Create Job Requisition task.
- Choose a Supervisory Organization (this should default to your supervisory organization).
- Specify whether you're creating a new position or replacing an existing position. If you're replacing a position, choose "For Existing Position". If you're creating a new position, choose "Create New Position".

Choose Employee as the Worker Type.

Click the edit button
to edit the Recruiting Details form. Be sure to fill out all required fields (indicated by the *). Always select "Post Internally" for the Recruiting Instruction field.
Please Note: the Recruiting Start Date is the date that you want to start recruiting for this position. The Target End Date is the last day for someone to work this position. This is typically set to the last day of the semester. - Click Next.

Click the edit button again to edit and fill out the Job Details form. For the Job Posting Title, be sure to include the department and whether or not the job is a federal work-study position or presidential student employment position. Also, be sure to fill out all required fields (including Scheduled Weekly Hours) for this form as well.
Please Note: For jobs under Pioneer Food Service, Plant Services, or Lifeguards you must select the job profile PSE - 9101 or FWS - 9101. This is necessary because that is the worker's compensation code for those departments. All other positions will choose either PSE - 8868 or FWS - 8868 for their job profile.
Always choose "Student" for the Worker-Sub Type field. Always choose "Part time" for the Time Type field. Always choose "Williamsburg Campus" for the Primary location field. - Click Next.
- Scroll through and verify that the Company, Cost Center, Costing, and NACUBO information is correct.
- Under the Other section, be sure to specify the Employee Group - this will always be students.
- Also, under the Other section, be sure to specify the Division. If you don't know your division, please reach out to Carissa Barnett in student employment and she will be able to tell you.
- Click Next.
- Click the Add button to add any attachments necessary for your job requisition. This is not required.
- Click Next.
- Click the Add button on the Assign Roles page. Always set the Role field to Primary Recruiter.
- Always set the Assigned To field to Carissa Barnett, as she works in Student Employment.
- Click Next.
- Now scroll through all of the information and verify that it is correct. If you see anything that is incorrect, click the edit button and correct that information.

Once you've reviewed the information, click Submit. This will be sent over to Student Employment for approval.
