Backup Microsoft Authenticator: How to Back Up Your Accounts in Microsoft Authenticator

Backup on iPhone:
To back up your accounts on an iOS device, you need to enable iCloud to use Authenticator and then enable backup in Authenticator.
- Enable iCloud Drive on your iOS device. Learn how.
- Enable iCloud Keychain on your iOS device. Learn how.
- Enable iCloud Backup on your iOS device. Learn how.
- Go to your Saved to iCloud list and search for Authenticator. Learn how.
- Turn on the toggle for Authenticator.
Backup on Android:
To back up your one-time password accounts on an Android device...
- Open Microsoft Authenticator
- Tap the three vertical dots
, then Settings
- Turn on the Cloud Backup toggle

Select a Microsoft personal account where the backup will be stored.
Note: If you saved the backup to the wrong account or need to change the recovery account, delete the existing backup and make a new one. - Tap OK
Got a New Phone?:
If you've gotten a new phone and you have Microsoft Authenticator backed up on your old phone, you can restore the backup on your new phone.
- Install the Microsoft Authenticator app on your new phone (if it's not already on there after setting it up and transferring everything)
- Open the Microsoft Authenticator app and tap Begin recovery
