Communications & Information Technology
How to Request a Project with Another Department:
Asana does NOT replace the official request process for other UC departments.
- Communications: Communications & Marketing Request
- Information Technology: Open an IT Helpdesk Ticket
- Operations: Plan Services & Maintenance Work Order
*For other departments not listed above, please continue to communicate requests through their official request process.
When to use a Project in Asana:
It is appropriate to create a Project Board when:
- There is a defined goal or outcome
- Multiple tasks are required
- Multiple people are involved
- Work will span weeks or months
- Progress needs to be tracked
When NOT to use a Project in Asana:
It is NOT appropriate to create a Project Board:
- For a one-time task, a simple task, or a quick action that is not related to a larger goal.
-
For work that isn't ongoing or collaborative.
- A Project Board would be excessive if there are not multiple tasks, no deadlines to track, or no team members involved.
-
If the content is personal, sensitive in nature, or does not relate to work activities.
- DO NOT INCLUDE PII OR PERSONAL IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION IN ASANA!
